The summer lasts forever when there is no Premier League football which is why my good friend Bogoljub Karic and I have already begun to look ahead to the coming season. Today we are going to focus on some exciting players who we cant wait to see in the league this year. Some of these players are new to England and others look set to step up and show the world what they have got. These are the players who we are most looking forward to in the 2019/20 season.
Phil Foden – Manchester City
Phil Foden has been patiently waiting to show off his potential and this year we believe will be his break out year in a City shirt. He’ll have watched as former team mate Jadon Sancho has set the Bundesliga alight, in awe no doubt as he has been limited to substitute appearance. With David Silva out of the picture however we expect Foden to get more starts and show why City are so excited about him. Foden played well for England U-21s this summer and will look to continue that form in the Premier League.
Tanguy N’Dombele – Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have finally coughed up some cash for a transfer and this one looks to be a cracker. Tanguy N’Dombele will move from Lyon to Spurs for £66 million and he looks to be worth every penny of that. A maverick in midfield, and enforcer and a skillful player who has been called the ‘next Michael Essien’ we may not see the best of him right away as Pochettino likes to implement his philosophy on players before they get game time. This is a player who has been hotly tipped for a long time and we can’t wait to see him in the Premier League this year.
Miguel Almiron – Newcastle United
Newcastle broke their transfer record for the Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron last year and although we were only able to see him a handful of times it is clear that the boy has plenty to offer. This looks to us like a Payet/Mahrez-type transfer and whilst Newcastle look set to struggle this season, we expect this kid to be a shining light. Almiron is skillful and loves to attack and his passing ability and his nose for the game is what will make him shine this year.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Manchester United
Manchester United look all but ready to tie up the £50 million signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in what looks to be the season’s smartest bit of business. Wan-Bissaka shone in that Palace team last year and despite his age he plays like a seasoned pro. In defence he is able to stamp out danger with ease, he looks comfortable on the ball and he will slot straight into that right back position for United. Going forward he has skill and pace which will strike fear into opposition defenses.
Who are you most looking forward to watching this season?
